Diva is the foundation dam of Linfert's Mastiff's.

She was purchased when my husband and I decided we would like to try a different breed of dog. We wanted to stay with a large breed and did a lot of reading and research on the Mastiff. They seemed to be the perfect breed for us on paper, so we went looking to meet this breed in person and it was love at first sight. We didn't need to think about it .. we knew this was the right breed for us!

Don and I looked at four different litters of Mastiff puppies. It was in the last litter that we found the puppy of our dreams. She was from a very large litter of twelve puppies - there were brindles, fawns and apricots. We had already decided we wanted a female and the name I had picked for my puppy was 'Diva'. When we got to the breeders' home and were greeted by the owner, his wife was still inside. When we finally met his wife, on her shirt was one word; "Diva"! Only my husband and I knew the name we had picked out for our puppy and for this woman to be wearing a t-shirt with the word 'Diva' on it was very eery. Even the woman had chills after I told her. I have to say, " I believe in fate"!

I decided I wanted to breed my own litter of Mastiff puppies, I had Diva health tested for hereditary problems and went looking for a fantastic male that would compliment Diva in her weaker areas. I wanted a little more bone and height without losing the angulation essential for correct movement. Ch. Skamania's Dusk To Dawn was our choice dog to breed to Diva.

Diva produced eleven puppies on 11 - 5 - 2006 six females and five males were born by C-Section.
